Prayer @ Gloucester Salvation Army
 | |
"Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let
him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call
the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of
the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person
well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other
so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and
effective."
James 5: 13-17 The New International Version of The
Bible | |
No matter what your circumstances, happy or sad, rich or poor, healthy or sick, you should pray...
that's what James is saying.
| Adoration | Prayer is a Christian's means of offering praise to God for His Power and
His Creation. |
| Confession | Prayer is a Christian's means of coming to God and asking for forgiveness for the things
we've done which we shouldn't have done, and things that we've not done that we should have done. |
| Thanksgiving | Prayer is a Christian's means of communicating to God our thanks for everything that He has provided for us,
and for His continuing protection. |
| Supplication | Prayer is a Christian's means of bringing others to God and asking that He
will work in their lives to heal, restore to faith, guide and protect. |
Prayer is conversation with God.
"What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.
What a priviledge to carry, everything to God in prayer."
